美國能源部(Department ofEnergy)通稱DOE，DOE根據國外能耗等級相關法律法規出臺了DOE驗證，其目的是為了節能降耗、幫助大家節省電磁能，以達到節能降耗要求、降低全球變暖等有關功效。
美國聯邦法規(10 CFR 430)明確提出：但凡進到國外市場的外接式直流開關電源，都應該做到*少能耗等級levelIV，且需在產品上確立標示出。值得一提的是，也硬性要求生產商、品牌方向DOE遞交二份關鍵聲明文件。是品牌做到聯邦法規在能耗等級標準的合規性宣布(ComplianceStatement)，第二是品牌的證匯報(First CertificationReport)，二份文檔均需郵遞至美國能源部(DOE, Department of Energy)。
DOE驗證政策法規包括10CFR429和10CFR430，在其中10CFR429明確了試品采用標準與匯報標準，10CFR430則明確了測試標準和合規性宣布標準。
